Travel Adventures

Not only is our year here in California flying by, but I feel so blessed that we have gotten to see our families so many times.  Thus began our two week adventure to see the three sets of grandparents!  David had a big ENT conference in Arizona so Bella and I went to Texas for a few days.  We stayed with my parents but David's mom got to come down for the weekend.  Unfortunately the weather was freezing (literally freezing-there were snow flurries one day when we were leaving the mall!) and our time there was short but the visit was nice nonetheless.  I wanted to make it down to Houston to see some friends but simply didn't have the time.   Over the weekend two of my three brothers and their families also got to come and see us.  It makes me realize why I want to be back in TX, close to home.

Here are some photos from the Texas portion of our trip:

Bella thought her Cousin Josh was the funniest thing.  He was doing the sign for 'poop' (boys will be boys) and she would just crack up!
Kiki came to visit for the weekend and bought Bella a Valentine dog...unfortunately it sang a little too loud which Bella didn't like!
Bella STILL has ridiculous anxiety about being with anyone but mommy and daddy, so this moment was rare...sitting next to Uncle Engin with a smile on her face.
Bella gets very excited and typically becomes quite a ham when getting ready for bed!
Such a good tooth brusher!  I mean she really does brush, not just chew on it!
At the park with Grandma
Um, future ballerina?  Look at those feet!! Such a poser.
Since the weather was lousy, my mom, Bella and I did a lot of shopping. While trying on shoes Bella entertained herself by saying 'hi' to all the mirrors!
Bella loves balloons (or "bam" as she calls them), so Grandma bought her one for Valentine's Day.
Playing with Play-Doh for the first time....right next to Grandpa's Turkish rug...shhh!!

From Texas, Bella and I met up with David in Florida to visit Bella's PaPa and Granny.  And if that wasn't a treat enough, we even got to go to Disney World for 2 days.  We went to Magic Kingdom the first day which exceeded all my expectations.  I had done Disneyland with Bella and my family in CA over New Years but it was just so crowded.  At Disney World the weather was a perfect 75 degrees and the longest we waited for any ride was 30 minutes and most rides were only about 10 minutes! Bella LOVED it....she would clap on the rides and began to say "ride" and "white" (in honor of snow white, of course!).  We so desperately wanted Bella to see the parade that afternoon but of course she slept right through it. That evening, one of my best friends from high school (Devon) met us at the park. Devon and I had spent a week at Disney several years ago and had the BEST time so it was so wonderful to get to be there again with her.  We even got to do an awesome ride of Space Mountain for old times sake!  And then we enjoyed the awesome fireworks at which Bella kept saying, "light"!!  So precious.  I literally had tears in my eyes half the day as I would watch her childlike amazement/excitement at everything.

Our Day At Magic Kingdom:

There is something about walking down Main Street towards this castle that chokes me up every time.  I NEVER thought I would bring my child here at such a young age but I LOVED every minute of it!
David, Bella, and Granny in line for 'It's a Small World'
 Fascinated by the boat ride!
My baby loves the carousel!
Mickey's Phillhar Magic 4D show.  Bella kept her glasses on the whole time and would dance to music, and reach for the 3D objects as they came towards her!
The line for Winnie the Pooh was the best...it was full of activities to keep the kids entertained!
Enjoying a little snack...obviously it got pretty warm that day!
At the happiest place on earth with my baby and one of my besties...doesn't get better than this!
Watching the evening fireworks.  Bella kept saying "light"!
David and ALL our baby gear smooshed into a row on the tram to leave the park!!

The next day we were at Animal Kingdom.  There are not a lot of kid-friendly rides at this park and I had a hard time getting Bella to see a lot of the animals I was trying to point out.  She did however stay awake for the parade this time and was dancing and clapping away as the floats would come by.  She was wearing her sunglasses which attracted a lot of attention from the characters in the parade so they would come right up to her and wave and she promptly would say "hi"! We also took her to the Lion King show and she just danced and clapped away!

Our Day at Animal Kingdom:

Strolling along
Papa, David, and Bella in front of the Tree of Life
Now that's a fishy impression!
There were some native dancers performing and Bella insisted that we stop and watch, and clap away!  She was even more animated during the parades!
 Watching the parade
David HATES being volunteered for stuff and yet somehow always seems to get chosen, so I was really laughing to myself when he got picked (without me volunteering him) to represent the Elephants at the Lion King Show!!
Bella was captivated by the show!
Dinner at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.  What a FABULOUS day!

The next few days were spent in Vero Beach, FL for David's grandmother's 85th birthday celebration.  She graciously got us an amazing oceanfront suite which was bigger than the apartment we live in!  It was fabulous.  We spent the day swimming/playing on the beach, and having fabulous dinners at night (and a babysitter one night which was so nice!).

Photos from our weekend in Vero Beach:

Here is Ms. B at the entrance to the hotel.  This photo says it all about the personality of my dear child.  Head to one side, hand out, and strutting along.
This amazing view was from our balcony!
Namie (David's grandmother)
Bella LOVES sand so she really did enjoy the beach.  She also thinks all collections of water are bathtubs and so had no fear in walking into the ocean except it was COLD.  It was all fun and games until a big wave came up over her back and she was done!

Namie with her husband Bob, and her five kids-Molly, Rick, Claudia, Jeff, and Bill.

What an amazing two weeks!  Flying cross-country from FL back home to CA was NOT fun as my darling daughter decided she was only going to sleep a total of 30 minutes for the 15 hour day that it was, so needless to say we were those parents with the screaming kid on the plane.  It's a huge blessing that she only wants a bed to lay in for sleep but it becomes a curse when we have to hold her on a plane!
