Parent Commitment

One of the things David and I will miss most here in Houston is our church. I think it is hard to find a church you love every aspect about but we can honestly say we LOVE everything about First Baptist.  So it meant the world to us to have Bella dedicated there before we move to California.  My parents came down to celebrate with us.  She was dedicated along with about 10 other babies.  It was very special.  They introduced each baby, gave the meaning of their name (Isabella means "consecrated to God") and read a verse the parents had chosen for the baby.  Our verse for Bella (something David would even pray over her when she was in my belly!) was Proverbs 3:5-6-"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.  In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight".

All dressed up and ready to go:

We were so grateful my parents made in to the ceremony.

We love you Houston's First Baptist Church!!!

Scrubs

On Friday we took Bella to finally meet some of David's co-workers at LBJ hospital.  At one of Bella's baby showers she got the CUTEST pair of pink scrubs and so I was so excited for her to get to wear them.  Um,yeah, forgot that they were newborn size....YIKES...but by-golly we squeezed her into them!!!!

Oh Happy Day!!

For our weekly activity Bella and I went to Hermann Park with our friends to ride the train and have a picnic.  It was a perfect day and oh so much fun!!!  All the kids really enjoyed the train and their were dozens of field trippers to wave as we went past.  Lukily we beat them all to the ticket line and were the first to get on the train that day!

That is the face of "Ok, now that the train ride is over....feed me!"

BFF's!!!  Hunt looks like he is kissing his girlfriends!  And I think Maddie has a hold of Bella's ear!
Even before we busted out the food we had some very brave ducks come check us out.  Although I am strongly against animal abuse I would have kicked one in the head if they got close to our babies!

I love that I am getting to make all these Houston memories....It's going to be so hard to leave!

Got the earsies pierced!

So we were gonna get Bella's ears pierced at her 4 month doctor visit but they were out of earrings. I am sure the receptionist hates me because I have called everyday since until FINALLY the earrings came in.  I quickly put a dab of EMLA cream (numbing medicine...hey, why not?!) on her ears and we were off.  Of course she took it like a champ (probably because her lobes were numb!) and was blowing bubbles right after they pierced her ears.  Too cute!  Gold suites her well!

Love a bargain!

My new favorite day of the week is Thursday....why you ask???  Because that is now the day my bible study ladies now meet on which means I get to leave Bella at home with David.  So last week we went out to dinner at Rice Village (a tradition of ours every time we finish a bible study book), and I took a quick peek in Gymboree.  I find the place to be very much out of my price range but was super excited to find this adorable sun hat....for....only.....wait for it....$4.99!

Strawberry Picking

I LOVE having stay-at-home mom friends with babies the same age as mine.  It's a great excuse to get together as often as possible!!  So this past week we went strawberry picking...how fun-I hadn't picked fruit since I was a kid.  It was a HOT day but we lathered up the babies in sunscreen, got our picking buckets, and picked away.  Unfortuanately it was the end of the season so we really had to search for the berries-and let me tell you how hard it is to squat and pick berries with a 16 pound baby strapped to your front!! My thighs were burning!  But those of us with babies each got one yummy pound and my mom picked about 4.  We ended the day with a picnic (in the shade of course).  A perfect outing!

Me & Bella, Amanda & Madeline, Kim & Hunt.  Aren't all their sun hats and shades cute!  Look how Madeline and Hunt are eyeing each other!

Happy Birthday Mom!

Last weekend we were up in Conroe for my mom's birthday. Two of my three brothers and their families made it down so it was pretty much a full house. The boys went fishing...and caught lots of fish for dinner(we even had left overs), Bella had her first boat ride, ate rice cereal for the first time, and it was just all around a lot of fun.

David is one proud fisherman!

Me and my future aggie dressed alike!

MMMMM...rice cereal....she took to it like a champ! But as you can tell, the girl does not turn down a meal!

HILARIOUS....the cheeks are so big they get scrunched up by the life jacket!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
