Happy Birthday David!

David LOVES all things water so for his birthday he was eagerly anticipating going to the Monterey Bay Aquarium.  He had mentioned to one of his patients that we were going and his patient said "oh, well I am a member of the Pebble Beach Club.  I'll give you my membership card and make a few phone calls and get you and your family in!!!"  AWESOME!!!  So we got up early Saturday and made our way down to Pebble Beach.  It was gorgeous.  Bella loved walking along the beach and watching the waves roll in.  The club was of course set on the water and behind was the golf course where the have the U.S. Open.  We felt very fortunate to be able to be there.

After visiting the club we drove up the coast a little bit to another beach area.  The waves here were pretty big and we saw some surfers.  At the top of the beach were hundreds of rocks where people had stacked them into huge towers.  Pretty impressive!

Next we were off to the aquarium.  David and I have been to a lot of aquariums but this one was by far the most amazing.  We were there ALL day and enjoyed every minute of it.  They had some incredible exhibits...from sea otters, to jelly fish, to multiple touch tanks, and awesome play areas for the kids.

I think my favorite exhibit was the jelly fish.  I didn't realize there were so many different species but the ones in this photo were so beautiful and graceful.

We wanted to put Bella in the clam so bad but she was napping so David and I posed instead!

It's no clam but this little "chick" is just as cute!  I really love this photo...she looks so perfectly posed!

I had a video of David's favorite tank in the aquarium but it won't seem to upload.  There were tuna, sharks and hundreds of sardines. We actually went back at the end of the day when the aquarium was practically empty and sat on the floor and watched the fish for half an hour.  It was so peaceful.
